Giordano Viaggio Tandem

The Giordano Viaggio tandem bike encourages you and a friend or family member to share the thrill of cycling. The Viaggio boasts a strong yet lightweight aluminum tandem frame, along with a Shimano 24-speed drive train that provides a gear for virtually every riding terrain. The Viaggio’s Shimano STI integrated shifters provide fluid, lightning-fast shifting and braking from the same position. Responsive alloy side pull brakes stop on a dime. Other details include smooth-riding 700x32 tires, and sturdy resin pedals. The Viaggio Tandem is finished in a beautiful white pearl paint.

I wanted to add a few comments after riding this tandem for several months now. The bike is still very solid and is a lot of fun to ride. There are some minor shortcomings, so I have done the following upgrades to date: 1. stoker seatpost - Cane Creek Thudbuster suspension seatpost (a must) and the stock was a bit short for my oldest son. 2. new captain's seatpost - The stock was a bit short and the clamp kept slipping letting the seat slide all the way back even after repeated tightening 3. new stem - the stock seat angle is slack and the stock stem is very long 120mm+ , a new 80mm stem helps to make the captain's cockpit much more comfortable. The bike is fairly light and stiff and moves along very well, even with the wide, lower pressure tires. I have purchased a new set of trutative GXP cranks that will cut the weight even further. The seats are marginal, and should be swapped for any long distance riding. The front derailleur cable clamp has been slipping and does not reach the large chain ring when that happens. The rear derailleur is working well and the shifters in general work very well.

This is an amazing value!!! I was leery of buying a tandem at this price. I sent an email to bikes4families asking some questions and within 2 hours received a response with answers to my questions. I ordered this bike on Tuesday and it arrived by FedEx on Friday, Wow! It was carefully packed with lots of bubble wrap and protection. It took as much time to unwrap it as it did to assemble the bike. I am an avid bicyclist, doing mountain, road and triathlon biking. I knew this would not be a high-end racing bike, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality and soundness of this bike. the Aluminum Frame is excellent, very stiff and responsive. The components are mid-grade entry-level Shimano and once adjusted properly, shifting is flawless. The wheels were true and well tensioned. The ride is smooth and solid feeling. Pros: Aluminum Frame - Stiff and Light Appearance - beautiful paint and decal set Wheels - light and aero Shimano STI shifting is excellent Water bottle cages included Cork handlebar tape is very good quality Easy to adjust to a variety of rider sizes Locking kickstand works for tandem Cons: Steel chainwheels and idler pulley is noisy Seats are not the most comfortable Tires are adequate, but only 85psi max front quick release is a bit odd but functional I would recommend this tandem to anyone wanting to get into tandem biking without emptying the wallet. Note: it takes some experience/skill to set up the brakes and duraillers properly, but they work well once properly adjusted.
